🛴 About Riding
Q: Does temperature affect the performance of the scooter?
A: Yes. Operating in high temperatures (especially during long uphill rides) can reduce the lifespan of motors, batteries, brakes, and tires. In temperatures above 30°C, the risk increases.Cold temperatures don’t damage components but will reduce battery range, so plan your trips accordingly. The optimal riding temperature is 16°C to 25°C.
Q: Can I ride a Teverun electric scooter in the rain?
A: Try to avoid it. Teverun scooters have IP54 water resistance, meaning light rain should be fine. However, riding in heavy rain, snow, or through puddles is not recommended. Wet conditions increase braking distance and risk of water damage.
Q: How can I avoid flat tires?
A: Teverun scooters use self-healing tubeless tires, which help prevent flats. Still, always check tire pressure before riding. Maintain 45–50 psi for both front and rear tires (lower for PMT tires).
Q: Do I need to wear a helmet when riding my electric scooter?
A: Absolutely. Regardless of local laws, wearing a helmet is essential. At minimum, wear a quality bicycle helmet; ideally a full-face motorcycle helmet.
Q: Are Teverun electric scooters safe to ride?
A: Like any vehicle, safety depends on usage and environment. Teverun scooters are designed for safety, but poor handling, lack of gear, or inattentiveness can lead to injury.Always wear a helmet (and consider pads and gloves)Start slow if you're a beginnerRide responsibly and avoid high speeds unless experiencedRide alone only, and stay alert
⚙️ About Operation
Q: Can I leave my scooter charging overnight?
A: Teverun scooters have smart BMS systems that stop charging at 100%. But due to lithium battery risks, we do not recommend overnight or unattended charging.
Q: If my scooter gets wet, can I charge it?
A: No. Let it dry for at least 48 hours before charging to avoid short circuits.
Q: Is it OK to operate my e-scooter in single motor mode?
A: Not ideal. Using only one motor puts more strain on it and can drain the battery faster than dual motor mode. In dual motor mode, each motor operates at lower power.
Q: Can I lock up an electric scooter?
A: Yes, and you should. Use a strong chain lock (e.g. hardened steel) and consider a disc brake alarm lock. Lock your scooter in visible, high-traffic areas and never use only cable locks.
🛠️ About Maintenance
Q: How to maintaining an electric scooter
To keep your scooter in top condition:
1. Read the manual – Learn about weight limits, charging times, and maintenance.
2. Charge properly – Use the correct charger; avoid overcharging.
3. Keep it clean – Wipe with a damp cloth; avoid soaking or harsh chemicals.
4. Check tire pressure – Use a gauge to keep tires at recommended PSI.
5. Inspect brakes – Replace worn brake pads and adjust cables as needed.
6. Lubricate moving parts – Use silicone/PTFE-based lubricants (not WD-40).
7. Store properly – Dry, cool places away from sunlight; don't store fully charged for long periods.
Q: What regular maintenance is required?
※ Motors – Usually low-maintenance, but may need dusting/cleaning.
※ Tires – Replace every 1–2 years or ~1500km. Inflate to recommended, not max PSI.
※ Brakes – Check brake pads regularly; replace when material is thin.
※ Bearings – Clean and lubricate periodically with PTFE/silicone spray (never WD-40).
※ Tighten screws – Check monthly. Use Loctite on any loose ones.
※ Cleaning – Use damp cloth, compressed air, or all-purpose cleaner on cloth — avoid direct water contact with electronics or batteries.
🔋 Battery Care
Q: How long does a battery last?
A: Typically 300–500 full charge cycles, or about 2–3 years with regular use. Battery longevity depends on how it’s charged and used — not just its age.
Q: How can I optimize battery life?
1. Charge in safe temperatures – Ideally around 20°C (68°F); don't charge hot batteries or in direct sunlight.
2. Avoid full discharge – Keep charge between 40%–90%. Never leave it at 0% or 100% for long.
3. Don't leave plugged in for too long – Even with auto cut-off, don’t leave it charging overnight.
4. For winter storage, charge to 100% before storing.
5. Avoid fast charging regularly – Fast charging is convenient but shortens battery life. Use sparingly.
